Chinchilla
It was on Christmas evening
that I realized something was very wrong.
I got him out along with my other Chin and
he got on the couch with me and was shivering.
So I knew then something was wrong.
I told my husband to take him to the vet immediately
the following morning so he did.
The vet wanted to put him to sleep and
my husband came to my work and told me.
I left work and speeded there.
The vet told me that his teeth had grown into his jaws and could not eat.
I wanted to at least try to save him (No matter the money).
Anyway she made a list of things to go buy at the store so I did.
She gave me Antibiotics to give oral.
I did everything in my power to try to build his strength up enough
to have surgery in a couple of weeks.
I bundled him up for the night and he got up to try and eat some Timothy hay,
and that is where I found him the next morning.
I wanted to post this for him so that people would take their Chins
to the vet every 6 months or to make for sure they are
chewing and keeping their teeth in good shape.
He was my first Chin.
When I first got him he did chew on stuff.
I guess he didn’t enough.
He left behind a female I have raised since she was 4 wks. old
and she is just now coming around.
I got her another partner so that she would not grieve herself to death.
She did not like him at first but they are getting along fine now.
I miss him with all my heart
and you can make for sure that it will never happen again.
I have a very good vet and she knows
I will be taking my others at least every 6 months to get a full check up.
This was something that could have been prevented.
People need to pay all the attention in the world to their pets.
I do not have kids so they are my babies.
Rest in Peace my little Gizzymo
you will never be forgotten!
And his blood will live on because my female is pregnant
there will be a Gizmo Junior.
Thank you for letting me post this.
Take Good Care of “All” little ones
we are all they have.
