Goldie by Elizabeth

I got Goldie on my 18th birthday from a friend of mine and from that moment we were inseparable. She was this big ball of fuzz and she was so sweet snd protecetive. Even when she was a puppy she would bark at everybody except me and my parents. I always felt safe around her. Everyday after-school I would get her chain and we would go walking she loved to go walking this was our time together. I have had alot of dogs but for some reason she is my favorite I just always figured she would be there I never knew I would only have her for a few years. I regret a couple of those years because I moved out and could not take her for fear of her getting hit by a car because I lived so close to the road and I did not have a big yard but when I moved back in my parents house I would take her for walks but just four months after I moved back she was gone.

I still remember that day it was the worst day of my life. I went outside to see a friend of mine that had just got there and when I opened the door Goldie and the other dogs just ran out I could not catch her because when she got out she always disappeared so quickly but after a few minutes I saw her coming across the road and then all I heard was a loud pop like a tire going flat and when I looked all I saw was her flying in the air the guy driving the truck did not even stop he was going about 70mph a 55mph zone.

When I saw her I just ran to the road because my cocker spaniel was standing right in the middle of the road so I went and got her and ran in the house crying because I could not believe that she was gone she was my angel she always gave me hug and just sat and listen to me when I needed her she was always there no matter if I got mad at her she was still right by my side it has been six months and it has not got much easier. I just celebrated my 24th birthday on Feburary 16th and it just was not as special because that was the day that I first looked in her eyes and knew I had found a friend for life. Goldie I miss you so much and always remember that I Love You Always.
