To Guenhyvere, Guen, Guennie, Black Bear, Fathead, and Greybeard, my best friend, fierce protector, and soul mate:
We had six and a half wonderful years together, and I am thankful for every minute. You were my first baby. From the moment I brought you home I was yours, heart and soul. And you were mine.
I will always remember your floppy paint brush ears, so soft and silky, your cold black bear nose, and your kiss marks. I miss your hugs, so strong they knocked me over, your big wet sloppy rottweiler kisses, and your rump shaking tail wags. I miss snuggling with you, giving you belly rubs, and kissing your soft head.
But most of all I will miss your sweet spirit, the very gentleness of you, and your giant heart.
Thank you so much for being you. Thank you for your undying loyalty, your great, endless love, and your friendship. Thank you for kissing my tears away. Thank you for being there for me every single time I needed you.
We all miss you, Guen. You are so loved, now and always. I will never forget your paws in the sand. You were my shadow for years, and I will always be able to look down and imagine you at my side. Go with God. I love you.
