I think we can best describe Gunger as someone that trained us. He was so smart and used that against us often. We were so young when we got Gunger and completely naive. But as we all “grew up” together we learned. Gunger was a strong dog who feared no-one or nothing. He never picked a fight, but if one was started, he would be the one to end it. We didn’t raise him this way, he just was that way. But when he was alone with us, he was our big baby boy.
Soon our family grew to four when we got Bodee, Gunger’s baby brother. The four of us went everywhere together and especially loved to go camping. We were perfect until Bodee got called home on April 15, 2002. I think he and God made a deal to give Dave and me a year to get our lives straightened out, because one year later, Gunger got called home to be with Bodee. You see Bodee never new a life without Gunger, so I think he needed Gunger with him.
I can’t even describe the pain and emptiness we’re experiencing now that both of our boys are gone. The comfort I hold close is that they’re together where they belong and someday we’ll be there with them again also.
