Holly by Kellsie

I am posting this to honor my first child fur or otherwise Holly. One fateful day 8 years ago I walked into the SF SPCA to get a cat…and walked out with a Pekingese. She had been abandoned in a park in Fresno with several of her siblings and was in pretty bad shape. But she was a happy dog anyways. She saw me through more bad times & long nights than I care to remember. She weighed all of 13 lbs soaking wet but was convinced she was a much bigger dog.

Holly snored loudly and made a gurgling sound when happy. She loved to be held & rocked like a baby and she loved the blow dryer. I try now to remember the times when she was young & happy and hold them in my heart.

She adored my daughter when she was born & would sleep guard under the baby’s bassinette. If the baby cried Holly would jump in my bed & wake me up. She was devoted to us and we adored her with all of our hearts.

It breaks my heart to have to give her back to the angels. I look for her everywhere and I am sure I hear her walking down our hallways at night. She entered into rest yesterday evening with peace & dignity warm in the love of her family.

I will love her & miss her forever.

My only consolation is that she is in heaven waiting for us with all the other loved ones who have departed before & I know I will see her again.

God bless Holly dog
may angels play “chase” with you.
