Jake by Cindy Buhs / Mom and Dad

Jake was my very first schnauzer. I got Jake (Rainier’s Evening Star) 13 years ago in hopes of him becoming a show dog. He got too large for the show ring but he became my constant companion. He got me through my husband’s many six month deployments in the Navy when he was younger. He was such a beautiful spirit. He always just wanted to please me and be by my side. He had many health problems through the years including pancreatitis, cancerous tumor that was removed, severe arthritis and an emergency where he almost died from eating baking chocolate when we were in the process of moving. The past few weeks he began losing control of his bladder and it was hard for him to get around. I could tell he was in pain and did not want him to suffer any longer although I did not want to let him go. I was with him until the end and
he died in my arms.

Jake, you will always be in my heart. I will never forget you!! Maggie and Spike will take good care of me now. I know you are no longer in any pain and are running around happily with grandma Gwen and the other schnauzers. Although I miss you dearly I know you are in a better place and are able to romp and chase after seagulls once more.
