Jake by Heather Clarke / Heather and Stephen

Dear Jake
1994-2004

Dear Jake I cried for you today,
And I fear my heart is broken.
I look upon such empty space –
Deeds undone and words unspoken.
You brightened my life, my dear boy,
How I wish there were more tomorrows –
Because every day that you’re not here
Brings more tears and heart-felt sorrow.
Your spirit deserves my celebration,
But for now I need to grieve.
And if there’s a God in Heaven,
We’ll meet again, I must believe.
Until that time, my Dear Jake,
Rest easy, but do not wait –
Just meet me when I get there,
And walk with me through the gate.

In our hearts forever,
Jake
