It’s our anniversary today! I bought you on an icy Christmas eve, not a Christmas present but a much wanted lifetime pet. You were so small that you could sit on my hand! Who would have guessed that you would have grown into the big strong dog that you did, 24 inches to the shoulder, so agile and nimble. You were poorly after I got you, gastric enteritis. I nursed you every two hours, night and day for two weeks until you were strong again. I have never for one second ever regretted knowing you.
You taught me so much and for that, I will be forever grateful. My heart aches and my eyes fill with tears every time I think of your passing, but the memory of you fills me with pride.
I know you are there with me sometimes but I so wish I could see and touch you just once more.
