Today I put down my golden Jessie. It was so sad watching him suffer. He would look at me with those sad brown eyes asking me to let him go. I can’t believe he is gone. The house is so quiet. Everything is just not the same.
Christmas 1996 you came popping out of the box. The kids went wild when they saw your little blond head pop up. Megan was 7. She cried tears of joy when she saw your adorable face, and James who was 3 laughed with delight. You made our lives so very happy, even when you would get into trouble. You took dad’s peanutbutter sandwich right off the kitchen table and ate it. When dad asked me if I took it, we looked at you and there you were, munching very happily and getting the peanutbutter stuck in your teeth. It was the funniest thing you did.
Thank you for watching over the kids, always barking at them to get out of the pool. You hated the pool. You wanted your kids out and safe. That’s how you got the nickname “Lifeguard”.
Thank you for all the happy, fun, times. We will all miss you, and never forget you, sweet boy. Wait for us up there with Charlie, Dawn and Grandma. Till we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. (Don’t be late).
All my Love,
Jessie |
