Jessie by Sandie

Jessie was the softest and cutest of the litter. How could I not take her home? In time she grew to be the most loving and smartest of all dogs. The only thing was that she didn’t know she was a dog. She loved to root in the snow piles of leaves and pools of water. She stayed by my side no matter what. She understood that small children could be knocked down by her size so she sat down and scooted towards them for their safety. My granddaughter grew up and learned to walk by holding onto Jessie. My new kitten nursed on a mole on Jessie’s tummy. Her heart was as big as the grand canyon and was as golden as she was.

I miss her so. She was cremated after her passing and lives in the flower garden with forget-me-nots planted on her grave. There will never be another dog to touch as many hearts.

Jessie I love and still miss you terribly. Your smile and love warmed me many times when I was down and out. There will never be another you.

I love you.
