Kona by Daniel & Yahri Harrigan / Daddy, Mama, Arjua & Ana

Beloved Kona, our special gift. The day you chose us as your parents began a new life for us. We took you to your new home where you met your sister “Crazy Bird” and the 3 cats which you seemed not to notice. As you grew you became “Daddy’s Girl”, “KoKo BaNoNoo” as he would call you. When we got you a new brother a couple years later, you and he formed a bond that only grew stronger as time seemed to fly by. When your older sister died you mourned with all of us and grew even closer. With each passing day from the moment you arrived to the moment you departed, you “My Missy”, was so in tune with your daddy that you knew and awaited his arrival each day from work with your tail wagging, barking and jumping with joy.

No one knew you were sick nor did you even give a hint of sickness. With each exam from the vet we would be told that you needed to shed 10 pounds. You were never sick until last week when you stopped eating food and then Thursday when you wouldn’t eat a treat. When we took you to the vet the next morning you had suddenly gone from healthy to critically ill. We rushed you to the hospital and checked on you during the night and you were so much better. We went to pick you up the following morning, knowing the outcome of some of the test that were done but we didn’t know until we went to bring you home that morning that the final blood test done showed that your immune system shut down and your blood cells were rapidly dying and you could pass within hours to maybe a few days. We brought you home so you could see and say goodbye to your Beloved Arjuna and Ana. We cuddled next to you and Arjuna and poured our Love all over you.

We looked in your eyes a few hours later and knew it was time to return to the hospital. You passed from us that same afternoon at 4:17 pm but as you left us we surrounded you, loved you and you gave each of us a sweet gentle kiss and put your head back down on your crossed legs. As our tears started to flow you closed your eyes and gently fell to sleep and as you left us you were greeted by your sisters Crazy Bird and Chandi in that Special Place created for ALL of God’s creatures.

Our hearts are broken, the tears still flow, your memory being seared on our broken hearts. Arjuna mourns for you. His Love for you has left him looking for you, confused, looking everywhere for you. Waiting for your return which he will never see until he joins you at his time.

Our Love for you will just grow stronger and as we try to fill this void we will heal just because we were Loved by you.

Our Eternal Love,
Kona
