Maggie was a Bait Dog. When she came to me she was full of wounds, skin and bones, with filed down teeth so she would not be able to protect herself. She was a breeder too, her body abused in every way. Still she was the most loving dog and endured all the dressing changes and baths without to ever raise a lip. She loved puppies and kittens. She was afraid of thunder. Maggie was never offered for adoption as I came to love her too much to let her go.
Ironically, and very very sadly, she was killed 4 years later by a group of dogs that attacked her. It wasn’t fair.
Love you Hippo. Still crying for you! I’m so sorry….See you at the bridge!
