Dear Best Friend
I can’t believe you have been gone so long my memories of you are like those of yesterday. I remember picking you out of over six other pups your mom and dad had that warm summer day in July. You grew up with me and saw me through Junior High High School College and the birth of my first child Ashley. She asks about you and how much you loved to lick her face. I only wish she got to know you as well as I did. Just writing this letter is giving me chills up my spine. I have gone to work with animals and volunteer with the MSPCA in Boston. I know some said that you didn’t have what it took to be a patrol dog but you proved them wrong each time you protected your family you did it well. I can’t ever stop thinking about all the times you and I or my friends who hung out with me would take you to get a hamburger at McDonald’s or an ice cream at Dairy Queen (even though I know you shouldn’t have dairy)! The places we went are all still there but you my friend are not you live on in all who you touched and by the many stories I tell of you to those who never met you. I love you and I miss you my friend and I know that you and Star are in heaven together just the way you always wanted. I know she must be nearby so give her a kiss for me. I miss her very much too!
Love Always
