Chihuahua
FIFTEEN YEARS AGO I WAS GIVEN A GIFT BY MY PARENTS
OF A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GIRL CHIHUAHUA THAT I LATER NAMED MISSI.
SHE FIT INTO THE PALM OF MY HAND. SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL,
SHE HAD CREME COLORED HAIR AND BIG EARS AND I KNEW WHEN I
LOOKED AT HER THAT I WAS FOREVER ATTACHED.
NEVER WOULD I IMAGINE THAT FIFTEEN YEARS LATER I WOULD
HAVE TO MAKE THE HARDEST DECISION I WILL EVER HAVE TO MAKE
IN MY LIFE I HAD TO PUT HER DOWN.
LIKE ANY OTHER PARENT OF A PET I WAITED AND THOUGHT MAYBE
SHE WOULD GET BETTER. I NOW REALIZE THAT I WAS BEING SELFISH.
SHE HAD A STROKE AND AS WE ALL KNOW YOU CAN NOT
CURE A STROKE.
AFTER DAYS OF CRYING I DECIDED TO TRY AND MAKE THINGS
BETTER BY THINKING OF HER AS SHE WAS.
FOR THIS I WANT TO THANK,
FIRST, MY PARENTS FOR BUYING HER FOR ME WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER.
SECOND, I WANT TO THANK MY BABY MISSI FOR GIVING ME THE MOST
WONDERFUL FIFTEEN YEARS OF MY LIFE.
THIRD I WANT HER TO KNOW THAT SHE IS MISSED SO DEEPLY
THAT MY HEART WILL NEVER RECOVER.
I LOVE YOU MISSI
SOON WE WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN
UNTIL THEN WAIT FOR ME,
BECAUSE I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE
YOU AGAIN.
LOVE MOMMY
