Mookie you were the best cat in the world.
You were so smart.
You were my alarm clock each day,
usually a half hour early,
but that was
so we could have that special time together.
You’d try to wake me with
your little feet all over my face and in my mouth.
If that didn’t work you’d just
decided to start flossing with my hair.
I could always expect to get a tap
on my arm whenever I had food,
to let you check it out for yourself.
The fridge was your best friend.
You’d rub against it
and almost got your head
caught a few times.
You loved to roll on your back to sleep so peacefully.
I can still picture you last week
hanging your head over the patio cover
smiling at me,
saying how much fun
you were having!
I know you will never leave my heart.
I’ll love you Forever Mookie.
