Orange Tiger Domestic Cat

Mr. Petty came to us as an orphan abandoned at Mich. Speedway
and was found wandering in the garbage and litter after a race.
He had apparently been abandoned by race fans who no longer
wanted him. My daughter-in law who worked there called and
said they had found this kitten and did we want him. I went
to Speedway immediately fell in love with this little fellow.
He was approx. 4 mo. old. Later in life he became afflicted with
diabetes. He had to have an insulin shot every day for approx. 7 yrs.
Then he became an non-insulin dependent diabetic.
Through all this he never once complained never flinched
when he got his daily injection. Always sat by his dish waiting
for the injection and of course the food that would follow.
When he wanted attention he would come up to any of the family
and gently touch you on the arm or leg with his paw.
Then when I took him to vet in early August he told me at that time
that he thought Mr. Petty was trying to die.
He said his kidneys were not working correctly possible due to
the diabetes. Then on August 2l 2000 he got really bad and
I took him to vet and he said he was filling up with fluid and
slowly smothering. He said he would not argue with my decision
if I decided to have him put down. He put his hand on my shoulder
and gently said “It’s the last loving thing you can do for him”.
We love you “King Richard”.
We will meet again one day on the other side.
Until then so long for a little
while old friend.
