Abandoned on a lonely road
Bewildered and unwanted,
With shabby coat and soft green eyes.
But spirits undaunted.
I picked you up and brought you home,
You were a loving treasure,
A constant vigil at my side,
Devotion without measure.
And so you came romped thru your life,
Then quietly you did part;
But did you know that you had left,
Your paw prints on my heart?
