Nicholas,
There is a painful absence in our home and hearts now that you have gone. You were our joy and sunshine, and will be missed tremendously! You fought a good battle, and stayed with us as long as you could, but your body just couldn’t keep up with your mind and spirit. You came to us later in life, at age 8, and blessed us with 6 1/2 wonderful years of fun, laughter, companionship, and unconditional love.
Our only regret is that we didn’t find each other sooner,or had more time together. People tell us how lucky you were to have found a home with us in your later years, but it was actually US that were the lucky ones! We didn’t rescue you…YOU rescued us from a life without you in it! We had such a short time together, but your memory, and our love for you, will live on in our hearts for a lifetime. Sleep well our beloved Nicholas…until we meet again…
