My beloved Nika was taken so quickly from me. She had only been sick one day in her short life. It was so sudden, and even after her surgery, two short days later I had to say goodbye. I was there by her side, as she had been almost everyday for seven years. I know she held on just long enough for her mamma to be there and hold her. It was the saddest day of my life. Since the first day we picked up that little girl, and she grew into a gentle giant,
she put a smile on everyone’s face.
Every morning and evening, I was surrounded at the door, until we made our way outside to play “soccer”. She even got so good, she could kick the ball up the hill. It was my routine for seven years. After we would come in from playing, 15 minutes later I would get a large paw on my leg, letting me know she was ready to play some more. I called her my overgrown puppy, my Pele, my baby girl, my Nika-A-Poo. She had the best expressions, and even learned to burp. She ran as effortlessly as a deer, barely touching the ground. I miss her, and so do her sisters Roxy and Kaycee. You are gone, but not forgotten.
Your mommy loves you.
