My companion of sixteen years passed away today, and I buried him as if I were tucking him into bed. These thoughts have occurred to me over the day and I think I’m supposed to pass this on. A soul is better described as a spiritual personality, and is by nature transcendant of age, race, culture, sex, and even species. When souls are parted from one another by physical death, the physical reaction is called grieving. The more closely connected the souls, the more profound the grief. To view grief only as an emotional reaction is to miss a very subtle but vitally important truth.

The emotion is simply a barometer of how closely the souls are connected. It should not become the focus of the grief and separation experience, but should be seen to illuminate the eternal quality and actual divinity of the souls involved.

This means that age, race, culture, sex, or species are actually prejudicial perceptions and are ultimately and simply constructs for souls to work with while they share this plane of existence. We will all be reunited.
It is simply the way God wants it.
