Peaches by Ken / Ken

Farewell my beautiful one, my one and only kitty. How my heart is breaking! It seems such a short time ago when it was just you and me and a dog against the world, and then came Lisa and her two kitties. Now all are gone; my handsome dalmation-mix Karl, Lisa’s wise Mouse and brawny Cat, and now you, Peaches, orange flame of pure beauty. Thank you for the gift of your presence and the blessing of your purrs. Thank you for thirteen years of pure love. Thank you for straightening me out about cats. I’ll miss the warmth of your chin on my hand as I work at my computer in the morning and the way you settled on my newspaper as I tried to read it and the way you scrounged for the milk at the bottom of my breakfast cereal bowl. Oh, my lovely Peaches, how I shall miss you! A night of tears and sighs I will consecrate to you and never forget you as long as I live!
