Pearl by Sue & Matt / Your mama Sue

I was living in a trailer with 4 cats when I came upon this dog being kept in a crate. She had such a pathetic look to her that I impulsively said “I’ll take her”, well before I knew what happened, I was on my way home with a borrowed leash, some food in a bag and a 40 pound dog with no manners. Yikes, what had I been thinking?????

Well Pearl Dog came a long way since then, I got her in 1996 when she was 6 months old…I was her 4th owner. The dog needed some security. I remember whispering in her ear, I will never leave you. And I didn’t…even at the end. She lived a terrific life with the cats and a big lab named Tanner. He left for the bridge almost 2 years ago. Pearl went downhill after that and her age really caught up with her.

She had a jolly ball since she was given to me and LOVED it…when she quit playing with that, I knew she was getting up there. She lived 14 years and I thank God for the memories and the precious time. I know animals are not mine, but given to me only to care for until the Good Lord needs them back. I have been very fortunate in having pets with very long lives…none have been taken tragically.

So my dear sweet Pearl…I’ve asked God to watch over you until your not scared, I suspect he has already re-united you with Tanner and you are probably having the time of your life…until we meet again at the bridge…I love you and will miss you all the days of my life.
