Piglet by Kim and Eric Griffin / Daddy and Mommy

An ode to Piglet
“snort snort” was the sound I heard
Twas 2 o’clock in the morn’
What could this be in my room?
With a sound of a pig yet no pig foun’
A thought struck true that this was a gentle life
The a sound of a pig, yet the love of a dog?
A glance over the bedside proved the idea
A little red dog sat patiently waiting
“At last, At last” the furtive glance seem’d to say
“On the bed, On the bed” was the agenda for t’day
A run to the top and a quick sniff to the eye
Piglet then laid down to rest, for the last time.
