To our Pumkin Baby Girl (Toy Poodle-Chihuahua)
To carry you to your bed
Was to lift my own heart from its chains;
To gaze into your eyes was to see such deep pure love
That my own tears came to greet it;
To hold you in my arms
Was to hold my own softness;
To see your joy when I returned home
Was to see my own joy when I feel Gods grace;
To walk with you
Was to make life’s adventure ever new;
To play your small happy games
Was to re-fire my own happiness;
In my own moments of darkness
The light of your love was always there;
People could not help but smile when
They saw that you existed in this World;
You served humanity by your very existence.
You may have been one of God’s smallest creatures;
You may have been helpless when faced with evil;
But you took care of us in such a way
That God shone through with such pure love
That I have seen only in the purest of saints.
Maybe no one can understand
why my heart was humbled by our little Pumkin girl
But when one so small can love so large
I can still hope that one day I can love God
As much as you loved us.
