I got Rachael & her brother at 5 weeks of age. She was the largest & he the smallest of a litter of 12. They were my dream & would become more important than anyone in my life. They were Basset Hounds & Rachael was almost all white & as sweet as apple pie. She let me dress her up, dance with her & just love on her. Her diagnosis of cancer when she was 10 years old was devastating & I felt I could not go on but when I looked at her innocence I gained strength since she did not know she was ending her journey with us. We prayerfully had her for 13 quality months where we spent so much time together. I quit 2 jobs to be with them more & I am so glad I did as the memories I have are still with me. She taught me to be brave & to really know your priorities. Her dignity & strength was unmeasurable. I miss her every day of my life & cherish the day we will be together again.
I Love You beyond words,
Rachael |
