With tears of grief and heavy heart
I said goodbye to you,
a furry friend as sweet as you
none could ever be so true.
You stayed with me and played with me,
and gave me all your love.
Now I give the gift of peace to you
and thank our Lord above
for the years you joined my family
with your patient, gentle face,
I’ll always keep you in my heart
in a very special place.
God gave you here to share with me
in earthly joy and sorrow,
I know there is a place for you
in Heaven’s bright tomorrow.
All the memories you made with me
are surely here to stay,
for all the love you gave to me,
death could never take away.
