November 28 1983 ———– November 16,1998
My husband and I got Ruby at the age of 8 weeks old.
She was a mixed breed of German & Belgium Shepard.
Six months after my Husband and I were married we received
a telephone call from my sister-in-law asking if we wanted a puppy.
Ruby was the last one left in the litter. I acknowledge right away
okay.
From that point on Ruby was the center of our world.
We had no children yet so Ruby got all of the attention.
She loved to go to the beach play ball take walks and
most of all ride in the car.
We’ll as you can tell Ruby was spoiled.
As Ruby grew our loved for her grew year by year.
When she went for her annual checkup she was the most
healthy dog you could ask for.
I think her health also contributed to all the loving she got.
As the years when on Ruby enjoyed life to the fullest and we
enjoyed her.
By the age of 13 Ruby developed arthritis in her both back hips.
We put her on an arthritis medication that she took this on a regular basics.
She still enjoyed her life immensely.
But by September 1998 Ruby developed a limp in her front leg.
After two weeks we had it exrayed. It showed she had bone cancer.
My heart sank not my Ruby. Amputation was not an option.
I knew my time with Ruby was limited.
The vet said that the most she would live would be five months.
I was devested. From that point on Ruby ate chicken every day.
After a while even chicken didn’t appeal to her. All she did was
lie around. It was such a struggle for her even to lie down.
I tried Morphine on her but this didn’t even help.
On November 16 1998 Ruby passed away.
I had her cremated. She now sits on my dresser with a
beautiful picture when she was five years old.
Most people would say that 15 years is a long time
(it really isn’t).
The years go by so fast.
My message to anyone who is reading this
cherish each and every moment with your pet.
Keep them forever in your heart.
Ruby was one of a kind a blessing
send from GOD.
