Rufus: You were my best friend for 14 1/2 years. Your acceptance of me and all my faults and your constant desire to make me happy was so appreciated I could never re-pay you. We were like one, you knew my every move & all you ever asked of me was to be with you which I did. When you became very ill & no longer ate and grew weaker I was thankful I took leave from work, made a bed next to yours and just stayed with you, singing songs like “JESUS LOVES YOU”. You had helped me through so many sad times that I owed you to be there until the end. When you took your last breath 1 week ago it was bittersweet. My prayer was answered you would suffer no more but the hole in my heart & my life was huge and painful and still is. Thank you for being mine for all those years-you were such a blessing and a joy & I will miss you with all my heart forever.
