Samantha and Sebastian, both Westies, were 14 years old when I had to make the decision to end their suffering. Samantha had chronic kidney disease and was having horrible seizures every day. Sebastian had diabetes and cancer. I made the decision to end their suffering on the same day. These “babies” had always slept together, ate together, groomed together and slept with me.
I loved them dearly and they can never be replaced. But, I could not let their tortured little bodies continue for my sake. I was with both of them the day they were put to rest and their bodies would no longer suffer.
I thank them for all the love and happiness they gave me for 14 years. I will never regret any care or money required to keep these “babies” comfortable in their last few days.
