Sebastian by Diana Granger / Love, Mom

Sebastian was the first pet I had in 20 years. I searched for 2 years to find this peppy, active dog I had seen on tv. He was a Valentine’s Day present from a past boyfriend. Sebastian had been with me
since he was 5 weeks old.

Sebastian, or “Sabby,” as I liked to call him, was the true love of my life. He was with me through good times, bad times, and sad times. He loved everyone and was friendly and loving toward children (of which I have none). He became my “running buddy”, my companion,
my child – not just a pet.

Two years ago, Sebastian developed diabetes. He had to have shots twice a day, administered by me. He never complained, in fact, he would remind me at night when it was time for his shots. He eventually became blind. About 3 months ago, Sebastian develop cancer in his left leg. I chose not to do chemo, radiation, or amputation because of his age and his poor health. On November 8th, I made a very difficult decision to end his torture and pain and had him released from his earthly body. I lost my 2 “babies” in one day, Sebastian and Samantha. I was with them to the bittersweet end. There will never be any other Westies that will ever replace my 2 “babies.” But, I feel that this was the last thing that I could do for my precious Sebastian and Samantha. They are greatly missed!

I love you, Sabby!,
Sebastian
