Shadow by Jim Anderson / Your Loving Dad

In the two and a half years that Shadow was part of my life, he has become something more than just another ferret. Shadow became a family member like no other. He became a friend as well, not only to me but to other ferrets and people. No matter where I went, if someone knew him they would ask how he was doing and why I didn’t have him with me. Because of his friendly nature, Shadow made friends no matter where he went. As an extended family member, Shadow was there for me through it all. I guess that’s the luxury of being in a single ferret family.

Shadow had a lot of fight and love in him, all the way to the end. I want to believe that Shadow waited for me to wake before taking the Rainbow Bridge journey. He passed on with me being there with him. Shadow waited for the person that loved him the most to be in the same room with him, so that he’d go to the Rainbow Bridge with lots of love. Shadow is now in a better place, leaving behind honored memories with the ones who cared.

Fare thee well Shadow, honorary mascot of NEFFER, noble friend and family member, ferret ambassador to New England, and fallen hero.

With highest honorable memories
