You were supposed to fly away with me as we broke the surly bonds of earth and headed towards the heavens above. You always loved riding in my truck (maybe you thought it was your truck) hanging your head out in the wind. It would make your ears fly like you imagined you were flying, you went with me eagerly in the airplanes and race cars always knowing how to lean so you wouldn’t fall over when I did something crazy. Now I must go forward without you, I so wanted to show you Alaska. The grandure, the serenity, and the freedom you could feel as you roamed the final undiscovered frontier on earth. I will always have you in my heart as I proceed on the path I set US on, I will not stray until I arrive at the destination I intended for us. That picture of us arriving at our final destination will have to be without you, it will be just me. I am sorry I could not have made it sooner so you could be with me, willingly, at my side. You always had eyes for me.
