Shawn was a sweet, beautiful, wonderful bird, with the greatest personality ever. He would always coo beautifully when he was happy, and when he was playfull, he would laugh..He loved to play with anything that was red. I would put him on my shoulder and take him everywhere with me. Everyone adored him.
One tragic day, we forgot Shawn was out of his cage and left to the store for a second. When we returned it was the saddest thing
we had ever seen.
While we were gone, the cat (who Shawn loved to play with and chase around the house), played a little too rough injuring Shawn rather badly..
We drove for hours trying to find a vet that could help our baby, finally finding a vet that could treat birds. We were happy to find him. The that same happiness turned to tears when the vet told us that due to the extent of the injury, and Shawns age, that he wasnt going to make it, and even if he did, he would suffer greatly.
So being the loving parent that I was I did the most humane, and caring thing that I could, and layed him to rest. I was there with him when they gave him his final breaths, telling how much I love him, and how much he meant to everyone, and that I would miss him dearly.
I had him cremated and his ashes spread over a wooded area of secluded private property so, that he could be free and
fly peacefully once again…
We all miss you Shawn, and
we will be united once again..
