Shogun

July 5 1984 —– July 10 2000

Poodle

Shogun came into my life at age 5 weeks.

He was born in Okinawa Japan while I was in the Navy.

He was so tiny and beautiful and it was love at first site.

He also chose his own name as I would keep calling him different

names to see if he would react and he reacted only to Shogun….

He transferred with me back to the states to numerous duty stations

including back overseas to Bahrain in 1995 where we stayed for

1 -1/2 years until I retired from the Navy.

I called him my little Sailor Dog as he was as much in the Navy as I was.

Shogun had cancer of the eye prior to going to Bahrain and had to

have his eye removed. I was told he would only make it about a year.

He lived for over five years. On July 10 2000 Shogun left me suddenly.

He became ill early in the morning and passed away at 10:30 am in my arms.

My Shogun was 16 years old and died in my arms.

I knew it was time as he was failing fast.

I lost his sister friend in Dec. at the age of 15 and the vet then told me

at their age to let them go. I let Shogun go and my heart is broken.

I thank God for the time I had with him and the joy he gave me

all those years.

I shall miss him terribly.

Good-bye my love for now.

Delores
