Kitten

I wanted a kitten for so long. My birthday was coming up

and I wanted a kitten but I didn`t get one.

One day I was at my friends`s party and my dad came to

pick me up.

My little sister said she got a kitten I didn`t believe her.

But my dad said it was true. I was so mad I felt like crying.

When I saw my sisters new kitten I instantly fell in love with

the kitten we had named her Smokey. She was the tiniest cat

that I ever saw. She had big blue eyes and her fur was all fuzz.

She was adorable. But then one night she got stepped on

she was acting weird. There weren`t any vets open in the town

where we live. So we took her to a emergency vet in Modesto

(by the way this happened around 9:00 p.m.).

They looked at her for a few minutes. They said she had a

“massive head trauma”. And they also said she didn`t have

a very good chance of living.

If she did live she would have had brain damage

and she wouldn`t do anything but just sit there.

We left here there for the night.

In the morning the vet called and said that she had died.

I cried over and over. I didn`t want to go to school but I did.

When I told my friend that Smokey had died I cried then

and I still cry to this day. I was mad and sad at the same time.

I was mad at God because he had taken her life away when

she was so young. She was only about 1 1/2 months old.

I love you Smokey and you`ll always be in our hearts no

matter what. We got another cat though she will never

be Smokey. But she is sweet just like Smokey was.

I will always love you Smokey.
