Snoopy by Karen and Mike Marrah / Your Family

I reached down from my chair this morning,
and then remembered that you’re gone.
Your soulful eyes were not looking at me,
and there was no scratching of your paw.

I didn’t see you as I started the shower,
or the way you’d run across the floor.
My showers will never be the same
without you waiting outside that door.
There wasn’t any begging of food
as I made my breakfast and lunch,
and there was no back door scuffling
that Shelby always liked so much.

You were more than just a dog to me;
you were my loyal and faithful companion.
My morning wake-ups will never be the same,
and for now I am left feeling numb.

Forever Loved and Missed,
Snoopy
