One Of A Kind
Soxx was born on October 14 1994.
He was the runt of 5 kittens.
When Soxx was little he had a blackish brown tail creamy brown body
his face was light brown with a little black marking (kinda like a mask)
he had brownish black legs with white marking on the feet
(that’s where he got his name “SOXX”) and he had the most beautiful
bluest eyes I have ever seen before.
I got Soxx from the school I attended and I didn’t call home because
I knew that my dad or mom would say no.
So instead of calling I just brought Soxx home.
My dad wouldn’t let me keep Soxx in the house but he did say I could
keep Soxx out in the barn. I didn’t want to keep Soxx in the barn
so I called my mom and asked her if I could keep Soxx at her house.
She already had a cat named Maxx so she told me I couldn’t bring
Soxx to her house. I was staying with my mom that night and when I
got to her house I would not talk to her and I was crying.
She told me to go ahead and go back over to my dads house and
I could bring Soxx over for one night. Well when my mom saw Soxx
that one night turned into a couple of nights a week a month
and well you get the picture. He got to stay.
The only problem we had with Soxx was he was so little you had to
watch where you stepped or sat because Soxx was usually there.
Well I ended up graduating High School and moving off to school.
I got an apartment where I went to school so I could bring Soxx with me.
It was me and my 2 friends and one of my friends Jamie had a cat too.
Well Patches and Soxx DID NOT GET ALONG.
Soxx always wanted to play but Patches did not want too.
Well I ended up moving back home and I think Soxx was so happy because
he got his old friend “Maxx” back. By this time Maxx had kinda forgot who
Soxx was but it didn’t take them to long before they became friends again.
Well I started working and living at my moms house.
Not to long after I was back home I met this guy.
He would come over to my moms house and for some reason Soxx
would try to attack him. If Soxx couldn’t attack him Soxx would growl at him.
I never understood why Soxx was acting that way.
I ended getting engaged to this guy and before we got married we moved
out together. I didn’t take Soxx with me at first.
After we lived together for about a month I started getting abused,
physically and mentally. I ended up kicking the guy out of the apartment
and I went home and I brought Soxx back.
Eventually I forgave the guy and he moved back in. Well Soxx did
not get along with him. One night the guy and I got into a fight
and Soxx came after him.
Long story short I ended up moving back home.
I guess a pet can really tell a bad person.
Back in October of 1999 Soxx and I moved out by ourselves.
I think this is the time Soxx and I bonded the most.
We had nothing but each other. He was there for me and I was
there for me. He was the reason I was so excited about wanting to
get home after work. He was always there on top of the recliner
on the couch or by the door waiting for me to get home.
There is nothing on this earth that could ever take place of that feeling
with Soxx. Soxx loved his mouse toys his kluckers his bed cat nip
and he loved sitting on the balcony outside watching the birds or
rolling around on the cold pavement on the balcony.
He would have done anything in the world to sit outside all day
(with the sliding glass door opened) watching everything.
Soxx is my priceless token of life. He has been with me almost 7 years
and although I do not have him with me his spirit will always be with me.
Soxx Eugene Parlin will be forever remembered!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE YOU SOXX!!!!
