Shih Tzu
We never knew what true pain was until our little”baby boy”
passed away. He was 7 1/2 years old and was such a strong little thing.
Sparky had seizures asthma and was diagnosed with kidney disease June “99.
In the summer of 97 he had lyme disease and almost was taken from us but
fought to stay with his family. We almost lost him then but were given the joy of
keeping him 2 1/2 years longer.
We loved Sparky as though he was our baby. He actually thought he was
human especially by eating out of a spoon and could even tie knots in his leash.
We miss his energetic spirit and love. This last month Sparky had to have
fluids everyday. He was such a trouper and so strong.
He started vomiting and hemorrhaging on a Saturday night and we took
him to the emergency vet. We thought we would be able to bring him home
on Monday morning. He was doing fine at the hospital and then we received
a call an hour after we had checked on him saying that he had taken a turn
for the worse and his back legs were paralyzed.
My husband and I rushed to the hospital. All I could think was to be able to be
there before he went to heaven. Even though Sparky had had a sedative before
we arrived he managed to look at us with those sweet little eyes.
We held him in his blanket and told him how much we loved him.
I then held him and he took one last breath and left us.
My husband and I both cried and I felt like part of me had died also.
We know that our little boy has no more pain and his spirit will always
be with us he will be in our hearts. The pain is still there.
Sparky was the center of our happiness.
We loved him with all our hearts and he knew that.
We were blessed to have him in our lives!!!
