Sunshine by Eliza Kurdziel / Your foster mom, Eliza

A sad ending to a stray island puppy…..

She didn’t have a home.
She didn’t have a name.
She didn’t have much time left on this earth from her beginning.
But a handful of people who cared enough about her picked her out of her agony to try to give her what she deserved..a second chance at this life.

She was so far gone that she had no more red blood cells left in her little body to keep going. All the fire ants, fleas, ticks and mosquitoes drained her of it. Without her mothers milk, she was only a skeleton of herself.

The vet said she had a 20% chance of survival if she received a blood transfusion.
She fought her little heart out through the transfusion but halfway in that same little heart gave out.

She died in the hands of someone who knew her for a very short time…but loved her none the less.

After death, she was named Sunshine.

If you want to help other puppies in her situation. Please contact the Turks and Caicos Society of Prevention of Cruelty of Animal (TCSPCA) at 649.941.8846 or visit www.potcakeplace.com. Both amazing organizations dedicating their time to helping the islands stray puppies.

If you adopt a puppy from the island it can be sent to you with volunteers traveling via American Airlines. There is no cost to you, but donations are always welcome.

I only knew her for less than 2 days..but this little sunshine still managed to break my heart.
