MY DEAR,BELOVED, CATS, SUNSHINE & SHADOW,
How I did love you both!
SUNSHINE, beautiful calico—black, white, and butterscotch, soft like a bunny, a family gave you to me when you were just a little kitten..I had just lost another wonderful cat–a blue point Siamese named Portia, and I needed a new furry friend to keep me company. You were great, curious, cautious, only making up with very few people, you loved to curl up next to my head on my bed at night; and you would hide from any other animals in the house, after I adopted a dog and Shadow…You were very independent and didn’t like a lot of people to touch you…You just trusted me and a few others who you let more closely into your life…(My daughter named you Sunshine). But, you and I had a VERY special bond…we sensed what the other was thinking a lot of the time. How I hated to let you go when you got so sick, but you are resting in peace; and your beautiful body is in the ground in my back yard, along with Shadow’s and my dog.You have a nice big marker with your name on it. Even though I lost you in May of 2005, I still miss you!
SHADOW, beautiful tortoise shell cat that I found at the Humane Society one day when I was visiting..You were 7 0r 8 when I took you home…You needed a home, since someone left you there because they could no longer take care of you..You were always a trooper, so even tempered, and easy to please, just grateful to have a new home, never any trouble, friendly, but not demanding….You were company to Sunshine, after she accepted that you were going to live with us also. It took Sunshine awhile to adjust, but she seemed to like having another cat in the house, even if she was more “stand-offish”…You came with your name, so I kept it; and it seemed like you and Sunshine had good names for cats living in the same house. When you got sick, I knew that your time had come, in April of 2006. You were the 3rd animal I have lost in a year’s time! It was hard to say “good bye,” and you rest in peace in my backyard, along with Sunshine and my dog, Corky.
SUNSHINE and SHADOW, thank you for the love and contentment you gave to me….I will always remember you, knowing that I gave you good homes.
GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU, my DEAR kitties!
