We found you in the evening’s shade
amid the cornstalks tall
We took you in, you touched our lives,
the stories we could tell.
With your stripy nose, your yellow eyes,
your soft and tender sounds,
Suzuko — Kitty, ‘Little Bell’
our hearts forever bound.
Silent conversations with your eyes
were always met with affection.
The kneading paws on your delicate frame
always signaled your contentment.
The way your gentle paw-touch felt
as it met upon a cheek,
when you held it there, ’twas like a soft caress
— ever soulful and so sweet.
An angel’s soul that winged its way
and took a form we’d notice.
You left your paw-prints on our hearts…
and we miss your presence with us.
You lived a life of 17 years with us...
you will not be forgotten!
