Sweet Pea by Lynn & Scott / Granpa, Grandma, La, Sunny, Squirrell,
Baby B

My name is Lynn and this story is for my dog Sweet Pea. She was such a sweet dog; she was only 18 months old when we lost her to a speeding motorist. I still struggle to understand why they didn’t stop. I can’t begin to tell you the deep heartache this brought to my family. Her little sister R.B. mourns for her still.

We live in a remote part of the desert and the heavy rains came which caused the dirt beneath our fence to loosen and naturally curious dog that she was she dig out with her brothers and sisters to go exploring. Seven crossed the highway she didn’t make it back.

I came home and went looking for her only to find her hours later on the side of the road, her left side split wide open. I knelt beside her she was cold and stiff. I took off my jacket and wrapped her up carrying her back to the house. It was so cold and raining I didn’t want to bury her that night, and I wanted her mom and siblings to say good-bye to her. I dug her grave the next day. I buried her the next day with my jacket her pink collar. We planted a pink rose on her grave.

Yes we were truly blessed to have had her in our lives. I know she is warm and happy in doggy heaven. Her grandfather and I feel her spirit living throughout our home.

Love,
Sweet Pea
