Dear Daughter & Sister Kristyn,
I recall that Sunday afternoon in June ’01 when we drove to the reptile swap in Streamwood, Il. & purchased 2 painted turtles – one for you & one for me. Taylor seemed to be a very healthy, hungry & lively turtle. When you decided last November to move to Rochester, rather than have Taylor make the long drive in the cold weather, you allowed your turtle to remain home.
This past spring when turtles come “out of hibernation” Taylor refused to eat. Your turtle must have missed you very, very much Although I tried to give him luv & the attention he needed, it wasn’t enough. Mothers Day ’03 discovered Taylor being blind, deaf and continuing his hunger strike. We’re all grateful that you were able to see your turtle once more – handicaps and all.
Jennifer & Nick had planned to drive Taylor Turtle to you in just 3 weeks time. Taylor had other plans.
Your precious little painted turtle passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 in the early afternoon.
Dad & I buried Taylor the next day. He now rests with Jordan. Taylors favorite granite rock is now his tombstone.
We are all sorry for your loss.
Besides Larry and Jordan, we now have another pet in our hearts & thoughts – your pet turtle Taylor!
