Chinese Box Turtle
She came to us as a scared little hatchling
who knew not the world.
As each day passed and she grew she enlightened our lives
by her very presence in the room.
She made instant friends with our baby parrot
who came to love her and
also fight with her daily as a matter of sibling rivalry.
She also fell in love with our cat and our 500 plus stuffed animals
who she would wander to and cuddle each night.
Her favorite bear a six foot stuffy named BigB
provided her warmth comfort and a hiding place.
Although she had a life span of but 15 years
where she should have outlived us all
she will remain our daughter our cuddly friend our impish child
not to mention our dear dear little girl.
She will always live on in our hearts and souls
for when the crying ends and believe us
the Parrot Zonnie her brother her kitty Shahki her sister
and the teddies cry as we write
we all know that we will see here one more time again when we all pass on.
Take care of her Grandpa Sam we know you will.
We love her forever and ever and ever.
