Three-Legged Cat

We had heard a crying cat under the house so we went

under and checked it out.

The crying was from a two week old kitten that had one leg caught

up in black fabric. The fabric had gotten tangled around his leg and

cut off the circulation. We took him to the vet all the vet said was that we

would have to wait and see. So we took him home.

I nursed him back to health. Because he was so young he took me as his mother.

He did lose the leg but no one could tell because he was just as fast

as our other cats with four legs. He did everything with me.

He sat in the bathroom when I bathed he slept with me he ate with me

and he went out with me to ride my horse.

He even cleaned with me. We were so close. He knew when I was sad

and when I was happy. He was the joy of my life.

He always knew how to make me laugh. He was my child,

and now he is gone because two dogs thought he was a snack.

I will never have another baby like him no one will ever replace the love

he gave me. All I have left of him are memories and pictures that

I will treasure forever! He may have had only three legs but he was full of spirit.

I will remember his courage and strength.

I will try to live my days to the fullest as he did.

He taught me how to overcome my weaknesses and how to

give without a thought about it.

For him I will live my life like he would’ve wanted me to.
