Our Dear Yukon,
I don’t know where we went wrong, or if we did. We never knew anything about your first 4 months, but you were a wild child from the beginning when we brought you home. We thought at first that the stubborn behavior was cute and you were just a hard-headed puppy, until it became a problem.
Everytime you would growl at us or try to nip, we always made up excuses for the behavior. Even when there were some really close calls, we still made excuses, blaming ourselves for moving too quickly or scaring you or something… We can’t make up the excuses anymore, the aggression was getting worse and more frequent, the puppy-like nip turned into adult dog biting, almost daily.
We love you dearly, Yukon, but it is time to say “goodbye”. You will be remembered and missed; beside the aggressive moments, there were a lot of fun times and laughs: playing fetch, playing on the trampoline, your looks of amazement with sqeeky toys…
Montana will miss you dearly, too. She has no one to play with or talk to now, on a dog to dog level.
We are so sorry Yukon, we only wish you would have understood that we loved you and were there to take care of you, and not to be a threat or to hurt you, in any way.
You were a part of our family, and we will miss you.
