Bear by Christena and Steven Peters / Mommy and Daddy

Bear was a wonderful dog. However, he was so much more than that. He was our constant companion and friend. He was so sensitve and smart.

He would let us know with a certain look that he wanted a biscuit. He really loved my mother’s homemade fruitcake that she makes for Christmas. My husband Steve would cut himself a piece, and the dog would sit patiently by his feet. Bear knew that I didn’t like for him to have too much cake, so he would look over his shoulder at me to see if I was looking. Then with a certain look he would shift his weight so Steve would know the coast was clear and get a piece of cake.
He was so funny.

We were talking about this last night as Steve was again having a piece of my mom’s fruitcake. It was especially good this year.

Bear had passed over to Rainbows Bridge on January 12th, 2002, and I know now without a doubt, I would give him the whole thing if only I could have “One More Day” with him.

He will forever be missed and held in our hearts.
Thank you Bear for the best 10 years of our lives.
