I don’t know why it came to pass that two creatures with love for each other like us could be separated by such a foul event. It happened all too fast, I can’t recall the last time I remembered it.

I know that in my heart you will always go on, through life and death I will love you. It started on sunny day when we decided to get two puppies. From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were the one. “Stella, Stella,” you said to me as I scooped you up into my arms.

Months passed, we grew closer and closer. You and your sister Trixie were about 6 months old when it happened. A passerby fed you a poisoned piece of meat. Trixie got a fever, just not as bad as your’s. Not even close. You sputtered and threw up yellowish liquid. I thought you would die, but because you were so strong you pulled through it. I never thought about this before, but I knew it from the moment I saw you, you were a strong dog.

About 2 years later, on the 4th of July, I was going to my friend Emily’s house. After my dad had dropped me off, he went back home. You were in the car at that point. When he got home he opened the door for my sister, and thought you had gotten out. He looked and looked. But he couldn’t find you anywhere. I remember Lily telling me on the phone you had run away. Lily was my sister. Kind and sweet hearted.

When my dad had found you you had gotten heat stroke. You were in my aunt’s car. I know this was a long time ago, but doing you this honor makes a lot of sense now.

With All The Love In The Stars,

Your Best Friend Stella
