Buddy {a.k.a.} Taco by Alisha&Momma / Alisha & Momma

I found Taco when I was fourteen years old.She was in an abusive home and was not being fed. The owner said I could take her as long as I kept her name Taco. Fine. I brought her home and no one was here. Mom and Carl had a small truck in the yard so I rolled the windows down gave her food and water and went to borrow a friends phone. When I came back they were here. So I went outside and asked them to close their eyes.

I brought her in and after a few minutes of begging(from the both of us) and convincing Momma how pitiful it was, They gave in! She has been here since. We did everything together. There isn’t a street in my city that my buddy and I haven’t walked.(Carl always called her “Buddy Boy” even though she was girl, so Mom and I shortened it to Buddy) Everynight when I went to bed she was already under the covers making my bed nice and warm. I moved away from home and
I left Buddy with Momma.

Through the years I was gone she became Momma’s baby. I felt like since I wasn’t there, she took care of Mom for me. She lived a great life and had more love than one dog could handle.

I moved home three months ago and these have been the happiest three months of my life. I live across the street from Momma. Buddy stayed with me the biggest part of the time. She was great with my kids and she really took up to Perry. We even took a vacation to North Carolina and
she came along.

One evening while we were outside she got out. I thought that she had come back in,but she hadn’t. A car hit her, they didn’t even stop. I heard her cry and ran out there. I screamed her name and
she wagged her tail one last time.

There will never be another dog like Buddy. With each minute of the day, I am thinking of her. I just hope when my time comes she is there waiting on me. I will always be waiting on her.

I Love You Buddy,
Buddy {a.k.a.} Taco
