” Cagney ”

Cagney was a very special cat we would play peek a boo and

than I would chase her and she would run into another room into a

box to my saying I’m going to get you.

She would summon me in the morning to the floor so we could play

and I could rub her belly. At night she would sit in front of the couch

and just look and then go towards the stairs and meow softly to let

me know it was bedtime. She would race up the stairs and wait for me to

go to bed than fall asleep in my arms. We had many games one which we like

was for me to take my fingers and walk them towards her feet and

than she would slap them away and we would do this till she had enough

than would nip and slap my hand to say “Stop now”.

She always would sit up against the wall and we called her our little drunk

sailor and she would walk side ways like a Halloween kitty.

She loved chasing anything: olives finger nail files aluminum rolled

up mouse toys anything would do for her.

She loved chasing her sister upstairs and they would tassle around and

she would come running down the stairs with a big fluffy tail.

Making beds was no easy task not with her going under the sheets and

feet up and messing them up so I would have to redo the bed again and again.

She loved to sleep under covers “our little mole” as we called her.

She had a lot of nicknames.

She loved looking out windows and we knew when a squirrel or bird was

outside by her tail and her little squeak.

She always greeted me at the door at night. Once after a week vacation

she waited at the top of the stairs and when I called her she came

running and would not leave my side for days.

How she loved to fight walls and door and she always won!!

She was my soul mate thru life and will be again into eternity.

To Cagney I love you always and miss you still it’s been a year this

month and I light a candle daily for you. You are in my thoughts always

and my heart is missing a little since the day you left me.
